Carlisle Key works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. They empower young people by giving them the knowledge, support, and confidence they need so that they can live independently and take an active role in the local community.
The client approached us in need of a brand refresh that included a new logo with colours and typeface, window graphics for their Carlisle office and tri-fold leaflets.
"We pride ourselves in the quick support we provide for young people in crisis. We make referrals for housing and find them support with other services. We focus on well-being and have activities planned throughout the year.
We would like the logo to embrace who we are but also the strength of the young people. Everything comes from them, their voices.”
We were tasked with designing a new logo to refresh their existing brand, with a focus on empowering the young people the charity serves.
Focusing on the brief provided, we have created a strong logo and brand for the charity. Here's what our designer, Victoria had to say about the colour and imagery choice for the logo:
"The logomark represents housing, opening doors and a speech bubble design to convey the support and advice aspect of Carlisle Key.
The use of vibrant colours should appeal to young people, making them feel that it is a safe space created specifically for them."
We also designed and produced an information leaflet, printed using sustainable paper that is sourced via our carbon-captured scheme, in partnership with The Woodland Trust. The scheme is funded by a levy paid by H&H Reeds upon purchasing paper for printing. The money is donated to the Woodland Trust, which uses the levy to fund the planting of natural, deciduous woodland trees in Britain.
Our signage team fitted window graphics for the client at their office location, using Contravision vinyl, a one-way vision vinyl that allows light to come through the design, whilst providing privacy as the visibility is limited from the outside.
The outcome is a fresh brand identity for the organisation that is vibrant and bold, appeals to their target age demographic, whilst conveying the message of support and care.
