The client, Discover Penrith, functions to promote and market the town to both tourists and residents. Alongside functioning as a hub for local events, activities, and business partnerships, Discover Penrith also provides sponsorship to develop and support culture within the town. Some of the most prolific events that Discover Penrith has been involved with include Penrith on a Plate, Winter Droving, and Penrith Arts Festival.
The project involved building a functional new website, showcasing the clients’ newly refreshed brand image. The client expressed a key focus on creating an interactive location for their members to promote their businesses via the site. Growing overall visibility was a key part of the brief too, maximising reach and enabling the business to meet its own goal of raising the profile of the town.
Working closely with the client, we outlined the framework for the new website, from designs to determining what type of content would be necessary for the site and how it would be presented. Our developers implemented optimisation tactics across the site, ensuring responsiveness and speed, while also adding security across the domain using an SSL certificate.
We also built a dedicated business directory, creating an interactive facility where members can post events, and in turn the postings can be easily filtered to allow users to find what they’re looking for quickly. We also created a secure members login facility, allowing users to edit their profiles/events they’ve posted. Finally, we made it simple to submit an event listing for the site, generating a form open to both members and the general public.
We produced a website design that made the best of the clients’ new brand image, while also capturing the essential elements of interactivity and usability across key areas of the site. Our expert team kept the core aim of the business at the helm of the project, and our end result was a distinctive, straightforward, optimised site which showcases informative, easily manageable content.
