In the past month, we have welcomed a new CNC Router and a UV Roll to Roll printer to the Reeds family. As part of over a £100,000 investment in our signage department, the new router will expand the capacity and capabilities as we see growth for signage continue.

The new Tekcel EXR router and cutting table supplied and installed by Complete CNC Solutions will enable us to produce bespoke designed and in-house manufactured products; from simple flat designs to more complex shaped 3D LED illuminated signs plus individual fret cut out lettering. Our second piece of machinery is a Mimaki UV-JV160 print and cut roll to roll fed printer supplied and installed by CMYUK which also has a newly developed eco friendly ink system which will speed up our production times without compromising on quality.

Our Commercial Manager Anthony Donnelly said "We are delighted to have taken delivery of these hi-tech high-level machines. This investment will allow our workshop to be more proficient in all aspects of the sign making process. With an improved integrated workflow, the process will be sped up to create a significantly enhanced capacity along with opening up brand new possibilities in terms of volume and the range of work we can produce. Another advantage is being able to extend our flexibility in terms of the types of materials we can now print onto. This makes business sense as we see customers increasingly interested in new sustainable or recycled materials. Since COVID-19 we’ve also had a number of enquiries relating to cutting-edge anti-microbial and anti-bacterial materials. As a result of this investment we are now able to print onto these materials while streamlining the process too. We’re really pleased and excited to apply these enhanced capabilities to pipeline projects."

We have remained open during COVID-19 to provide virus screens, protective equipment and signage for many key services so it was only right that we continue creating safe environments for our community whether it be in offices, gyms, restaurants, care homes, hospitals, councils and schools, you name it, we have supplied it. The new materials at our disposal are designed to prevent the proliferation of bacteria on any surface where the new material has been installed, which in turn makes that surface resistant to any further microbial growth.

Looking into the future, "We are 100% committed to future proofing our business in terms of our technological power. The two investments combined allow us to not only service our current clients and markets but also widen our capacity and offerings to new areas. This will see us printing and designing bespoke signage well into the future. The team are thrilled with being able to meet evermore specific customer needs with shorter lead-times, and the step up to their preference for antibacterial or environmentally friendly products."
